Details of GBM held on 21st October, 2011

Given the low turn-out in today's GBM, it was decided that a fixed General Body would have to be constituted with formal membership. In this regard, the GBM has empowered the Executive Committee to start a membership drive in the campuses of JNU, Jamia, and DU. A nominal fee of Rs. 10/- would be collected along with the membership, and the funds thus collected would be utilized as a working fund for the activities of MAES.

The GBM also decided that a bank account in the name of the Treasurer of MAES would have to be opened at the earliest. The GBM also empowered the Fund-Raising Committee to commence its activities.

Call for General Body Meeting

Friends,

The Executive Committee, in its meeting convened on 9th October 2011, has decided to call for a General Body Meeting on 21st October 2011. This GBM is to be held at Students' Activity Centre (TEFLAS) at 5 P.M. The purpose of this GBM is to discuss the issues related to fund-raising and other related activities. We encourage all to attend this GBM in large numbers.

15 Applications Received

Dear friends and well-wishers,

MAES has received 15 applications for the Malayali Academia Higher Educational Grant from students belonging to Jawaharlal Nehru University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and University of Delhi. The Selection Committee would now be handed over the task of selecting the deserving candidates at the earliest. A meeting of the Executive Committee would be convened to finalize the number of students to be awarded the Grant. Also, the Fund-Raising Committee would soon begin the process of collecting contributions for the Grant. Your active support is solicited in ensuring the success of our further activities.
